Derek Palmer is a musician, composer and producer from the Midwest United States. Even at an early age, the passion of music always ran through his veins. Striving to learn, make and experience music in all forms, he embarked on a musical journey that took him through all sights and sounds of musical life. Taking as many courses throughout school for music and learning skills ranging in symphonic, classical band, jazz band/big band, orchestra and more. Developing further into percussion studies as well as musical composition, music theory and songwriting in college. He attended Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) for music and musical studies.

Music For Film, Trailers, Video Games and Advertising
Derek’s “Music For Film” is the moniker given to his work within the film scoring world. Taking on projects for films, short films, video games and most notably, works within the movie trailer world. Most of his works are designed for high impact trailers for films, however, he has also dove into more classical film scoring on short films ranging from action movies to horror/comedy films. He has gained quite a following for his work in trailer music and film scoring as well as picking up a vast array of clients both big and small.

Derek is also an established electronic music producer and DJ. These are his tracks and releases with official labels and companies that you can find via most online shops and streaming services like Spotify or Beatport. Ranging in various genres from Trance to Deep House and Progressive EDM, there’s plenty to find here in terms of electronic music goodness. Derek has had his music released worldwide and supported by some of the best and top acts in the industry including Armin Van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Paul Van Dyk, Ben Gold, ReOrder, Giuseppe Ottaviani and many more. Derek also manages the uplifting trance label Emergent Skies under the Emergent Music brand.
